MORERA Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Lleida
MORERA Nights transform the museum into a space for nocturnal artistic experiences
MORERA Nights is a cultural proposal that will allow you to discover the museum from a new perspective. For three special nights, the building and its exhibitions will become the setting for a unique experience where art will dialogue with music, light, live actions and visitor participation.
Under the slogan ” The Museum does not sleep “, the museum will open its doors at night to offer a program that transcends the conventional visit, a different way of experiencing the museum: more sensory, more open and more connected to contemporary artistic practices.
Each evening will present a unique combination of artistic interventions, musical performances, performative proposals and immersive experiences that will activate the different spaces of the museum. The public will be able to freely explore the rooms and participate in a program designed to generate unexpected encounters between disciplines, creators and visitors.
The Night of June 27 will open with the presentation of the immersive installation, LUX MUNDI , produced by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia. Four digital artists—Alba G. Corral, Desilence, Hamill Industries and MASSO—reinterpret the frescoes of the iconic apse of the church of Sant Climent de Taüll, which have been on display at the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) for a hundred years.
The program of the Night will then begin, curated by Antoni Pinent , independent curator of contemporary art, interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker (experimental/animation), and guest professor at various museums, cultural centers, film libraries, universities, art and film schools. He was founder and artistic director of INTANGIBLE. Lleida Art_Technology Festival, 2022 and 2023 editions. He has received the FAD Medal for the Promotion of Arts and Design, for his work in the programming team of Xcèntric: el cinema del CCCB (Barcelona, 2009). Among other awards for his work, career and filmography.

PIM, PAM; PUM .
Coinciding with the 90th anniversary of the 1936 coup d’état and the beginning of a cruel dictatorship, “PIM, PAM, PUM” offers the Lleida public an ironic, iconoclastic and at the same time festive look at the stories, ancient and current, that enhance the violence of war as a form of absolute domination, and also those stories that are expressed through the “symbolic power” that Pierre Bourdieu spoke of: a form of sweet and invisible violence, but very effective, that ends up being assumed and integrated by everyone. different way of processing information, often with genetic roots and more cerebral connectivity.
The third of the Nights will be hosted by Laia Pulido , founding partner, general director and editor of the magazine La Mangrana. Trained in audiovisual production and business management, she has developed her career in the field of critical thinking and contemporary artistic practices, especially through independent publishing projects. In addition to directing the magazine Mangrana, she maintains a biweekly opinion column in the Segre newspaper, entitled Apories d’aquí i d’allà, in which she exposes the paradoxes of the system in a pocket philosophy format, and occasionally collaborates with other media.
DISSIDENT INTERFACE .
The day is conceived as an ephemeral and unrepeatable experience: the pieces are not intended to be simply observed or interpreted, but rather lived and experienced. For a few hours, the MORERA and the immediate public space that surrounds it are transformed into spaces of shared perception in which the public is invited to come into contact with forms of orientation, listening and presence that escape the accelerated logics of contemporaneity.
