MORERA's classroom. Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Lleida
Yolanda Uriz (Pamplona, 1982) is a multisensory artist, with special interest in the senses of proximity (smell, touch, taste).
He loves to experiment with physical phenomena, vibrations, electromagnetic waves or chemical molecules, which he decodes as sound, light or smells, and transforms them to create immersive multisensory experiences. He focuses his research on interspecific chemical communication. He uses digital tools combined with DIY perfumery, exploring materials or experimenting in the Fab-Lab.
Both sound and smells travel through the air, where they meet our breath, radio waves, wifi, other voices… In this workshop we will decipher part of this amalgam using sensors and imagination. We will discover correspondences between olfactory molecules and hertz, a very particular type of synesthesia. In the workshop focused on families we will get to know many smells, with which we will play – with smells and with imagination.
*Pre-registration is required on the Museum website. Limited places.
