Abstract!

Dynamic visit + artistic workshop

What does an abstract work represent? Is it necessary to recognize figures or objects to understand a painting? This itinerary invites students to discover the different forms of abstraction present in the MORERA collection and to experiment with an artistic language that places shapes, colors, textures and visual rhythms as the main protagonists.

The visit allows you to meet some of the most representative abstract artists from the Terres de Ponent and understand how, throughout the 20th century, many creators abandoned figurative representation to explore new forms of expression. The selected works serve to talk about emotions, music, geometry, movement, balance, intuition and experimentation.

The workshop is adapted to different ages. In early childhood education, participants build an abstract collage from geometric shapes, colors and textures. From the initial cycle, the activity incorporates music as a creative stimulus: each participant draws freely while listening to different pieces of music, later transforming the spontaneous strokes into an abstract composition using anilines and other plastic resources.

The proposal especially favors creativity, the ability to experiment, freedom of expression and confidence in one’s own creative processes, showing that art does not always seek to represent reality but rather to interpret it.

Curricularly, it develops artistic and cultural competence, personal, social and learning-to-learn competence and communicative competence, establishing relationships with Artistic Education, Music, Mathematics (forms and composition), Languages ​​and Emotional Education.

The proposal mainly contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 3 (Health and Well-being), understanding artistic creation as a tool for emotional development, well-being and personal expression.
