MORERA Rooms. Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Lleida
Ritual of deactivation is an action that is articulated as a collective device of circulation, language and symbolic transformation based on a head modeled with sediments from Pallars that evokes the figure of the dictator Francisco Franco. The sediments are part of a material that, under natural conditions, should reach the Ebro delta, but which is retained along the course of the river by the reservoirs, which alters its flow and geological memory.
The piece proposes a space of relationship and interaction where the symbol circulates between the participants and is confronted with spontaneous language, generating a shared field of experience, memory and deactivation of power. The device is completed with the presence of a table with a jug of water from the Ebro, a basin and an open notebook, which act as elements of registration and activation of the action.
