Signes is an audiovisual kinetic sculpture that explores the relationships between light, movement and sound through a generative system. The work is formed by a grid of algorithmically controlled rotating light segments, whose movements configure visual compositions in continuous transformation. The same parameters that determine their kinetic and light behavior also intervene in the sound generation, establishing a direct correspondence between the different elements of the piece. Conceived as an autonomous instrument of visual music, Signes combines defined compositional structures with processes of indetermination that make each configuration unique. The work is part of the tradition of kinetic and generative art, and poses composition as a temporal process governed by systems and rules, rather than as a fixed form.
