MORERA Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Lleida
Landscape is much more than a representation of nature. It is also a way of explaining the relationship that people establish with the territory they inhabit. This itinerary allows you to discover how the representation of landscape has evolved from the late 19th century to the present day through significant works from the MORERA collection.
During the visit, participants will observe how artists interpret the landscapes of Ponent and around the world from very different perspectives, conditioned by the social, economic and cultural changes of each era. The works will serve to reflect on the transformation of the territory, the memory of landscapes, sustainability, the rural world and the impact of human activity on the environment.
Subsequently, the workshop will allow participants to experience some of the plastic resources that artists use to construct a landscape: composition, depth, perspective, light, texture and color. Each participant will develop a personal interpretation of the landscape, incorporating both direct observation and their own experience and imagination.
The proposal promotes observation of the territory, sensitivity towards natural and cultural heritage and the ability to critically interpret the changes that the landscape experiences over time.
From a curricular perspective, this activity establishes connections with Artistic Education, Environmental Knowledge, Geography, History, Biology and Environmental Education, especially developing artistic and cultural competence, scientific competence and civic competence.
The activity contributes especially to SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
