Dynamic visit + artistic workshop

Printing techniques have been fundamental in the history of art due to their ability to multiply images and make them reach a much wider audience. This itinerary proposes to discover the main reproductive techniques present in the MORERA collection —woodcut, etching, lithography, serigraphy, monotype and drypoint— and to understand their characteristics, expressive possibilities and evolution over time.

During the visit, students will observe the differences between the various printing systems, learn to identify their technical processes and discover how these techniques have contributed to the dissemination of ideas, culture and art. The selected works will allow them to reflect on the role of printing in both artistic creation and visual communication.

The tour culminates with a practical drypoint engraving workshop allowing you to understand all the phases of the creative process, from the preparation of the matrix to the final printing.

The proposal encourages planning, observation, technical precision and creativity, while helping to understand the relationship between art, technology and communication.

From a curricular perspective, it especially contributes to the development of artistic and cultural competence, mathematical and STEM competence —through the observation of technical and material processes— and entrepreneurial competence, promoting planning and problem solving during the creative process.

Establish connections with Art Education, Visual and Plastic Education, Technology, History and Visual Culture.

The activity contributes especially to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 11 (Protection of Cultural Heritage).
