Wednesday, November 27, at 7:00 p.m., as part of the celebration of the centenary of the birth of Jaume Magre (Cervera, 1924–Lleida, 1999), the MORERA will host the performance of the play Tot esperant Godot by of the 2nd year students of the Higher Degree Training Cycle in Theatrical Acting Techniques of the Lleida Municipal Theater Classroom under the direction of teachers Marta Rosell and Ares Piqué.

On May 3, 1965, the artistic group of the Alliance Française of Lleida presented a dramatized reading of the play Waiting for Godot , by Samuel Beckett, at the Institute of Ilerdencs Studies.

The assembly was done by Àngel Jové and the reading was illustrated with a large-format projection of a series of photographs that Ton Sirera had taken for the occasion in the desert landscape of La Cerdera with the featured actors and which, subsequently, were exhibited at the Cercle de Belles Arts de Lleida.

The show was very well received by the public and the press, not only because of the actors’ performances, but also because of the expressiveness of Sirera’s images, in total harmony with the emblematic work of the so-called “theatre of the absurd”. The presentation of the work was carried out by the then director of the Alliance Française, Jaume Magre, who highlighted the need to look at the controversial work with new eyes at the time.
