At MORERA. Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Lleida we are already eager to start organizing activities but we cannot yet open the doors of the new headquarters to do them. For this reason we are beginning to spread our wings beyond the building and present you with an itinerant project, the Univers Cristòfol. An initiative to make our artists resonate in different educational centers in the territory. The Univers Cristòfol is a project of the educational area of ​​the Museum that wants to take one of the artists in our collection beyond the walls of the Museum. We are talking about Leandre Cristòfol (Os de Balaguer, 1908 – Lleida, 1998) one of the main contemporary creators of Ponent.

Educational materials from the Cristòfol Universe

The project is presented in the form of an old chest of drawers from which different materials and documents can be extracted that allow the initiation of educational projects adapted to the characteristics of the groups. The materials and documents in the chest of drawers lead us through the artist’s life and work and help us deal with topics as diverse as family, geography, creation or sustainable development, among many others. Inside the drawer, the materials are organized into four thematic blocks (origins, materials-objects, creativity-imagination and biography-context) that can be worked on independently and transversally. The Cristòfol Universe was born with the desire to bring the history of contemporary art from Lleida to different educational centers in the demarcation through one of its references in Ponent. At the same time, the project makes available to the educational community a tool that allows art to be used as a generator of knowledge.
