Making it easier for all people to access the services and activities that the Museum will offer is one of its priority objectives. For this reason, accessibility is integrated into the management of the Museum and work is being done to apply it to all areas and services, including the website.
The guidelines and principles of accessible design are established by the W3C, that is, the World Wide Web Consortium, the international association that works to develop rules and standards for the web. The W3C defines a number of general principles of accessible design, such as considering different devices, using style sheets, evaluating the desirability of certain colors and others, and giving the user control over ‘interaction on the web.
The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) is an initiative developed by the World Wide Web Consortium to help make the Internet more accessible to people with disabilities.
In order to guarantee web accessibility from any device, the regulations applied to the mobile web format have been followed.
It is the rule that establishes the different levels of accessibility that web pages must have in Spain according to article 5 of Royal Decree 1494/2007 .
