The Jaume Morera Art Museum of Lleida held an exhibition depicting the last 25 years of the career of the illustrator, graphic designer and animator Carles Porta (Madrid, 1963), which have been closely linked to the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia (Animac).
The exhibition “Carles Porta. La casa infinita” [Carles Porta: The Infinite House, in English], which was the museum’s first collaboration with the festival, entailed a journey through Carles Porta’s creations. It focused on the artist’s creative process, but also recalled and established links between his work with the festival and his other ideas, experiments and stories which didn’t end up materialising. This was a unique opportunity to delve into the unique universe of the artist, one of Lleida’s most internationally renowned creators, which is brimming of fascinating characters and engaging stories.
‘La casa infinita,’ which took place museum’s exhibition space in a choral manner, established a dialogue between different productions illustrating the last thirty years of the artist’s professional career. The exhibition showcased his work related to the corporate image of the Animac, which was a true highlight of the event, and various projects that reflected his career and addressed different fields linked to the ways in which he views drawing, poetry, cinema, illustration and graphic design.
