Summary

DIGITAL ATRI Programming

From May 17 to October 5, 2025

Opening at 7:00 p.m.

“Bancals” is a piece of generative digital art that builds an algorithmic system that grows and evolves,
which is inspired by and speaks of one’s own imaginaries and personal landscapes of the Matarraña strip: the meticulous instructions draw and talk about the land, about plowed terraces, about sown terraces, about barren terraces. Construct, in machine language, an exciting journey that goes from the land to the code.

Digital artist and creative programmer Anna Carreras signs the audiovisual Bancals, one of her works
of new production inspired by nature and the result of small repetitions, code loops, guided by a
global repetition, that of the seasons. Subtle movements choreographically systematized to draw the
landscape.

Terraces (2022) and Roots (2021)

According to Casey Reas, artist and curator, “Anna Carreras’ work has a strong relationship with the landscape Spanish where he spends his time, and his piece at Social Codes, “Arrels”, connects drawing, code and the environment environment through a cycle of growth and decay. While Anna seeks nature as a source of his work, interprets and transforms his experience into a carefully crafted generative animation choreographed. Roots of the color of the earth and sky appear, penetrate and twist in a dance
vibrant. New growth in the barren soil overtakes the old, and the cycle continues.

The work of Anna Carreras (Barcelona, 1979) is framed within generative art using computer code,
algorithms and interactive technology as a language generating artistic experiences. Engineer of
training and a doctorate in Fine Arts, Carreras combines her artistic practice with teaching, and has
participated in exhibitions, talks and workshops all over the world. He has exhibited digital installations in renowned museums, festivals and national and international institutions such as the Venice Biennale, Art Basel Miami, Lo Pati Amposta, the Real Cercle Artistic of Barcelona or the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid. His work has has been recognized with international awards such as a Cannes Golden Lion or a Google DevArt.
