Presentation of the graphic novel – Wednesday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m.

Jaume Capdevila, Kap, militates in graphic humor from two trenches: one is that of the study and vigilance for the conservation of heritage through dissemination in publications, conferences and exhibitions; the other is that of the puppeteer who uses drawings to express his opinions.

In this book he presents a biography of Alfons Vila i Franquesa, Shum, a satirical cartoonist from the time of the Republic and also a trade unionist, anarchist, accidental victim of an explosion, Turkish leader, political prisoner and, finally, artist in exile . A sample of his graphic work, recently acquired by MORERA, can be seen in the exhibition Roots and horizons. More than a century of art.

The publication is part of the Doble Tint series by Pagès editors , directed by Jaume Barrull, a graphic novel collection that the Lleida-based publisher has launched with the aim of becoming the reference collection of comics in the Catalan language produced by Catalan authors.
