From April 13 on MORERA Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Lleida has opened the doors of the new headquarters at la Rambla de Ferran, number 13, in Lleida and of the exhibition with which it kicks off this new phase of the Museum, “Roots and horizons. More than a century of art».

Until May 12, inclusive, the museum celebrates a month of open doors with free entry. To ensure a smooth operation , advance ticket booking is recommended.

The exhibition that kicks off the new MORERA is a chronological journey from the end of the 19th century to the present day, which emphasizes some of the works in the collection that allow us to explain relevant moments of the our history Until February 2, 2025, we will be able to see the work of artists from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, the dynamism of Lleida in the 1930s, the impact of the Spanish Civil War and the exile or irruption of the new technological formats from the era of the 2000s, among others.

An exhibition that wants to present the collection that the Museum has been consolidating over the years, which now exceeds 5,000 works of art. Through a careful selection of nearly 450 works, we will find key authors of the Catalan artistic heritage such as Jaume Morera, Xavier Gosé, Antoni Garcia Lamolla, Leandre Cristòfol, Enric Crous, Josep Iglésias del Marquet, Palmira Puig, Rosa Siré, Alba G. Corral, Alfons López, Albert Bayona and Antoni Abad, among others.

The museum’s opening hours are from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays and public holidays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
