Tour inside the exhibition Roots and horizons. More than a century of art

The Magre Itinerary is a tour of the museum’s rooms through some pieces that recall the milestones that connect Jaume Magre and Servet (Cervera, 1924 – Lleida, 18 May 1999) with the museum.

The action is part of the Magre Centenary programme, promoted by Lleida City Council, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth and the twenty-five years since his passing. Magre was a councilor of La Paeria and, among other initiatives, promoted the Municipal Art School (now Leandre Cristòfol), the Theater Room and the renovation of the Music Conservatory. He also played a prominent role in the renewal of the Board of Trustees of the Jaume Morera Art Museum and its lines of work.

Jaume Magre had a close relationship with the creators of Ponent, especially with the artists linked to the activities of the Petite Galerie de l’Aliança Francesa , of which he was the director. The Magre itinerary, inside the exhibition Roots and Horizons. More than a century of art, points out some of these relationships and explains the main initiatives he promoted in the fields of visual arts.

By identifying with a poster with the centenary logo, you can follow the itinerary, with the works of art selected to narrate Magre’s relationship with the MORERA.
