MORERA Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Lleida

Add to calendar

After the success of the first edition, this 2026 the Primary Health Care of Lleida and MORERA, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Lleida, are joining forces again to continue the AlimentAR-T project, with a new edition that is now open to all citizens.

Promoting art as a way to improve people’s health remains the main objective of this proposal.

Nutrition is increasingly conditioned by certain cultural, social and economic factors, which are complicated for health professionals to address in consultations. In this sense, art can be a very important facilitating agent to address these issues and minimize barriers such as cultural, generational, social or economic differences between different users of the health system.

AlimentAR-T is a multidisciplinary hybrid project, which aims to work on food in its broader framework and, not only in the nutritional dimension, through art. The project is aligned with the proposal of the Arts in Health International Foundation (AiHIF), which aims to highlight the potential of the arts in improving the health of individuals and societies.

From this perspective, the work of art is not the object of study, it is the vehicle that should allow us to reflect on ourselves, on the complexity of the world and, in our case, which will allow us to work on a whole series of aspects related to food to improve eating habits through art.

To carry out the project, 10 works from the MORERA collections have been selected that allow working on different topics related to health: types of food and nutrients, traditional medicine, reading labels, etc. Each of the sessions will consist of two parts. In the first part, work will be carried out with the selected piece through the visual thinking system, with the support and encouragement of the museum technicians. And in the second part, practical workshops related to the analyzed work will be held, prepared by different professional profiles from the primary care centers of Lleida, such as nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians-nutritionists, psychologists and oral hygienists. The sessions will be carried out entirely at the MORERA facilities in small groups of a maximum of 20 people, and will be structured into ten weekly sessions, from January 23 to March 27, on Fridays from 11am to 1pm . .
