Next Saturday, November 9, La Mangrana celebrates the third anniversary of the birth of the magazine and the cooperative.

The celebratory event will include the presentation of a short documentary about the metaverse made by Octubre Cinema , the new audiovisual cooperative, the first in the regions of Lleida, which was born to promote local talent and to grow the film industry cinema in the territory. It is promoted by short film director Joel Munu and screenwriter Marina Rúbies, who also want to bet on a more collaborative and equitable model of creation.

The cooperative

Based on the values of the social and solidarity economy, Mangrana was born and aims to grow within a model of cooperative society with the main objective of generating decent work spaces and generating a work culture aimed at people, not profit. In a social context where not all arts professionals are sufficiently valued, these actions are basic, necessary and unfortunately still revolutionary.

The magazine

Writers, visual artists and journalists came together 3 years ago to create ‘Mangrana’ , a magazine specialized in contemporary culture , born in Lleida and with a vocation to promote artists and cultural projects from all over Catalonia .

The magazine is published quarterly and currently has 12 edited issues. Its creators are Laia Pulido (direction and editing) and Josep Pulido (art direction and layout).
