Summary

PATAC Festival of effervescent graphics in Lleida
The Museum Ring

From October 22 to November 22, 2026

Based on a Peanuts strip in which a leaf falls on Snoopy’s nose, Antonio Hitos constructs Radical Comics, a reflection on the essence of the language of comics. Over more than 200 pages, with a refined cartoon style, the author turns his theoretical approach into a visual experience that explores movement, time and perception. A final notebook completes this proposal by suggesting that comics not only represent the passage of time, but also allow us to experience it and become aware of the transience of our existence.

Antonio Hitos (Huelva, 1985) has been drawing comics since he was a child. He has received the Fnac-Salamandra Graphic International Graphic Novel Award, the INJUVE scholarship, the Residency at the Cité Internationale de la Bande Dessinée et de l´Image d´Angoulême organized by Acció Cultural Española, the VEGAP Proposals scholarship for artistic creation and the Aristas Graphic Novel Award for his comic Tensió de trencament (2025). His first two works, Inercia (Salamandra Graphic, 2014 / Astiberri 2023) and Materia (Astiberri, 2016), were nominated for the best work by a Spanish author at the Barcelona Comic Fair. His last two works published in Astiberri are Ruido (2023) and Còmic radical (2026).
